At the B1G1 Conference I attended in Singapore in 2018, something happened on Day 1 that just blew me away and it was the inspiration for the video I am sharing below. We were asked to connect with Human Books. Human books are part of the Human Library – a group of people who are willing to share their story to help break down barriers, judgements, and assumptions. What did this actually look like? Well, we sat around a table and listened to a person who we had never met before, who had been or was still living through an extreme circumstance. This required us to be still, silent and listen with intent.
It was a great reminder to open up our listening skills and be present in the moment, allowing us to learn from these amazing people.
