Seeing the Progress

Have you ever done a hike through dense forest, winding your way up a mountain—but you can’t really tell how far you’ve gone?

Then suddenly, you step into a clearing… and you look back.

That moment. That perspective shift.

It can stop you in your tracks.

We think the same applies to life.

In the middle of big transitions—whether it’s a home renovation, a career goal, or internal change—it’s easy to lose track of just how far we’ve travelled. We’re head down, pushing forward, eyes on what’s not done yet.

But if we pause for a moment and look back?

We realise… we’ve achieved more than we give ourselves credit for.

We tend to expect a clean, straight path from start to finish. But the reality is never that tidy. Progress loops. It stalls. It picks up again. And sometimes, it looks like nothing’s happening at all.

In our own renovation story, the house had no paint on it three years ago. Today, over half of it is finished. That’s something worth celebrating.

And it’s not just about houses. It’s about all the spaces we’re reshaping—within ourselves and in our lives.

So maybe it’s time we step into the clearing more often.

Look back. Acknowledge what’s already been achieved.

And give ourselves the credit we deserve.
