What Motivates You

Most of us are running on an engine we never consciously chose.

Fear is a surprisingly effective motivator. It keeps us planning, producing, filling every gap, staying on top of everything. But there is a real difference between doing something because you want to and doing it because something underneath you is afraid of what happens if you don’t.

Creating space is the opposite of filling it. And for a lot of people, an empty space feels dangerous. But space is actually where awareness lives. It is where you start to hear what is really driving you.

The shift from fear to joy as a motivator does not happen overnight. It starts with noticing. Noticing what you are doing, and asking honestly: is this coming from fear, or from something that matters?
